Response to the new Metrocaster and Q & A:

----- WOW very cool guitar! How does it sound? Looks like it would be a great candidate for a pickup
(being thin it comes across like an electric).
DJ

Thanks buddy. It sounds fantastic. I built it as an acoustic guitar.
I made and shaped the sideport to serve as the main soundhole.
The traditional soundhole on the Castaño is actually the size of a classical soundhole ...
it is voiced, built, and designed as a acoustic guitar.
I'm a very very happy with the tone.
Yep, I agree, it would be wonderful with pick up. But I am not offering a pick as standard,
because I do not want this guitar to get confused with a thin bodied acoustic electric instrument.
This is a very good acoustic guitar.
If some one wants a non invasive acosutic guitar pick up,
I am open to talk about it and even install it at no charge.
But they will need to purchase and send me the pick up once I approve it. take care, K

Man, this is a cool guitar. Is the first one sold? I figure so with Braz, etc.
db

This one is not sold , I'll sell it from the specials page this May. For now but I want to keep it around as a demo. You would not believe how loud it sounds. It is really a surpirse for the size. My thoughts are there are enough tight waisted fingerstyle guitars out there, I mean thousands and thousands... I want to bring something new to the arena at this stage of my career. I admired greatly what D'Angelicao did in the early 1990s with his archtop designs ...
Be sure to stay in touch; the first ones will be avaiable to purchase later this year. K

This is a very cool rose . How does it effect the tone? Can I get it in different woods?
je

Well, that is a very long story. The rosette is designed to work with this particualr body design.
The soundhole is smallish for a steel string guitar ; really closer to a classical size.
The rosette is used to help direct the tone (air flow) of the instrument.
It has a bit to do with some earlier Everetts from the 1980s, where I employeed the Hemholtz
flute theroy, and an idea that Ramirez had about an internal body baffel , ...

Yes, the rosette can be made in whatever exotic wood is used for the binding and bevels. K
